Ferrara Candy Company Breaks Ground on New Manufacturing Facility in Orangeburg, South Carolina
Ferrara has officially broken ground on its new manufacturing facility in Orangeburg, South Carolina, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth and investment in North America.
The $675 million facility will strengthen Ferrara’s manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, while creating more than 1,000 manufacturing and corporate positions in Orangeburg over the next decade. The investment reflects Ferrara's strong confidence in its future and opportunities in the sugar confections category, and an important step in the company's ongoing commitment to innovation, manufacturing excellence, and long-term growth.
Spanning 750,000 square feet, the new facility will include production and packaging operations, warehouse space, and administrative offices, playing a key role in meeting present and future consumer demand across Ferrara’s portfolio of iconic candy brands.
Ferrara leaders were joined by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, U.S. Congressman Jim Clyburn, South Carolina Department of Commerce Secretary Harry Lightsey, and Orangeburg County Development Commission Board Chair Kenneth Middleton and Executive Director Ty Davenport to celebrate the groundbreaking.

The first production lines are expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2029, with the full facility opening later that year. Once complete, the site will add the Southeast region to Ferrara's global manufacturing network, which spans over 30 facilities worldwide.
